Kaliber beer is brewed by Guiness in Ireland. For those who are not beer aficionados, Guiness is well-known as the dark beer of choice by many beer drinkers. It does seem impressive that a dark, heavy beer like Guiness would brew a non alcoholic variety. Kaliber is a non alcoholic beer. There are a number of non alcoholic beers on the market. The most readily available are brands called O'Doules or Sharps. Most people who have ranked these non alcoholic beers have ranked Kaliber as a better tasting beer than the competition.

The beer has been ranked by aroma, appearance, mouthfeel and flavor. In aroma, the Kaliber beer has been ranked by a beer website with numbers ranging from 5 out of 10 to 7 out of 10. The appearance is more static with many tasters ranking it as high as 9 out of 10. Some of these even noted that it has a nice light honey color and offers a creamy off white colored head. For those who enjoy a stiff head on their beer, this appearance quality surprises many - especially in a non alcoholic variety. For most that ranked the 'mouthfeel' of the beer, it ranked a full 10 points out of 10. The feel of the Kaliber is not much different than a full alcoholic beer. Flavor ranks in the 8 to 9 out of 10 range. This is what wins over many of the full alcohol brew drinkers. It tastes like a full alcohol beer, not weak and faint like so many other non alcohol and even some of the very light beers on the market.

It is brewed as a full strength lager, but at the end of the brewing process the alcohol is removed. Guiness has done a great job of producing a beer that is non alcoholic without sacrificing the taste and 'girth' of the beer. Only beer drinkers would understand how different this is from other non alcoholic beers available. When most people discusses non alcoholic beers, the first thing that comes to mind is a watered down version of a very pale beer. But Guiness, known for its very dark beer, has turned the tide on this thought process. They have produced a beer that is non alcoholic, but tastes, looks, smells and feels like a real honest to goodness beer to a beer drinker.

Kaliber beer has gone above and beyond what beer drinkers have come to expect in a non alcoholic beer. It gives the beer drinker that does not want the alcohol, no matter what the reason, the feeling of having a beer without sacrificing the good taste of a true beer. This is accomplished because Guinness goes to the trouble of brewing the beer first through the complete brewing process and then removing the alcohol.
